The hotel exuded character with charming furnishings and a lovely view from my room, although the sofa conversion bed made it a bit cramped. The service was impeccable, especially with Jamie's dry and humorous attention, but the parking options were limited. The dining experience at The George was pleasant, albeit more focused on hearty English dishes rather than lighter options. The location in a picturesque village was delightful, providing easy access to attractions in Bath and Wiltshire.

The hotel has a lot of historical charm, with well-appointed rooms that would make Pepys himself feel right at home. The service is top-notch, including a warm welcome and even amenities for pets. The location is ideal for a peaceful getaway, with serene views of the cricket field and local church. Dining options are satisfactory, especially for breakfast enthusiasts

The dining experience, especially for breakfast, meets expectations, with a variety of 'artisan' cereals and yogurts available. The evening dinner may not have all redeeming qualities, but it's adequate for a satisfying meal.

My stay at the hotel was fantastic! The room was quiet with an incredibly comfortable bed, located just across the road from the main unique old building, making it very pleasant. It was large and comfortable, providing plenty of room for the four of us. However, it struggled to cope with the heatwave temperatures as there was not enough ventilation.

My stay at the Coombes room was fantastic. The room was enormous, warm, clean, and comfortable. The recent revamp by Wadworth Brewery added to the charm, with amazing beams enhancing the cozy atmosphere. The location was both positive and negative, steeped in history with a charming walk nearby but facing some traffic during rush hours. The service by the very friendly staff was exceptional. The dining experience was top standard, especially the haddock and scrambled eggs. Despite some issues with hot water, the lovely breakfast room made up for it. Overall, great value for money.

Staying at this hotel was a delightful experience. The rooms, while small, were lovely, clean, and equipped with charming toiletries and coffee/tea/hot chocolate making facilities. The location, overlooking a large playing field and a church, was so good that we extended our stay. The dining experience was fabulous with a variety of choices. However, the room could get quite hot, and the price was a little high for what was offered.

Staying at this hotel felt like immersing myself in history, with the building exuding a charm that Pepys himself would recognize. The function room near our accommodation added to the historical ambiance, enhancing the overall experience. However, the bar was a bit lacking in atmosphere, which was a small downside.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms, though featuring great ensuite facilities and superb complimentary refreshments, were dark and dingy with flaking paint on the walls and obscured windows. The service, with housekeeping and pet amenities available, was quite good but had some room for improvement. The location, facing a cricket field and a local church, was beautiful but had some noise issues due to traffic. The dining experience was decent with a good variety of options but nothing exceptional. The facilities were adequate, though not outstanding.
